Close unrecognised schools: Paradip parents

Published on:

Out of 13 schools in Kujang block, which have got no Government permission and recognition, seven are located in Paradip, according to information shared to an RTI query.

The Indira Gandhi Girls High School, Balia, Saraswati Sishu Vidya Mandir, Balia, St. Xavier's International School (Kujang), Saraswati Sishu Vidya Mandir (Parudi), DAV School, (Kujang), Ashara Alok, Kalinga Academy, Saraswati Sishu Mandir (Udaybata), Vivekananda Educational Center, (Athara Banki), Sitaram Saraswat Primary School (Brundaban Colony), Indira Park Primary School (Madhuban) and Jagruti School have neither received Government permission nor official recognition. These schools blatantly disregard the minimum compliances required for educational institutions.

The management committees of these schools are taking quarters from Paradip Port and renting them out for profit, while the students enrolled do not receive any Government benefits or quality education due to the lack of Government recognition. Most of these schools also fail to employ trained teachers. Unfortunately, the Government has not taken legal action for the violations.

In light of this, the Odisha Parents Association demanded that the Government take measures to close these schools and transfer the affected students to Government-approved institutions to secure their future.
