A Senior Clerk in the office of the Chandrapur Block Education Officer in the district was suspended by the District Education Officer on Saturday for allegedly sexually harassing a woman teacher.
The accused identified as Satya Narayan Bisoyi, was earlier arrested in connection with the case. “The Headquarters of Satya Narayan Bisoyi under suspension is fixed at Block Education Office, Rayagada until further orders. The subsistence allowance at 50 per cent for a period of six months or till reinstatement which is earlier is here by sanctioned under Rule 90 of OSC.” stated the official order.
The official was arrested on September 1 on charges of forcing a woman teacher to have physical relation with him and harassing her over telephone. A day after his arrest, he was produced in the Rayagada SDJM Court on September 2.
