Head Clerk of Soro Tehsidar office in Baleswar district Basanta Kumar Mohanty was caught red-handed by Vigilance police at the Establishment Section of the office on Tuesday while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 2,000.
Mohanty had demanded the bribe from Jagabandhu Upadhyay of Sampur village in the district to process the file for settlement of Upadhaya’s unsettled land in Ramnagar Mouja under Soro Tehsil. The residential house of Mohanty located at village Ramnagar under the Khantapada police station is being searched. The accused was arrested and forwarded to custody. In another case, Medical Attendant of Capital Hospital, bhubaneswar, Sushanta Samantray was caught red-handed in the hospital premises on Tuesday while demanding and accepting bribe of Rs 2,000 from a resident of Barpali in Bargarh district, Saday Kumar Majhi, to provide Bedferox tablets.
