Class V students sexually harassed by teachers

In yet another shameful instance in the continuing series of sexual exploitation of minor girls in residential schools, about a dozen Class-V girl students of the Kendriya Vidyalaya here lodged a complaint with the police on Tuesday about being subjected to indecent behaviour by their computer and physical education teachers.

Sources said the students were allegedly subjected to indecent behaviour by their computer teacher on a regular basis. They had complained about it to the PET (Physical Education Teacher), who, instead of initiating action against the accused, rebuked them and subjected them to similar misbehaviour.

More shockingly, these students had also complained to the Principal of the school, but no action was taken against the erring teachers. With no hope of any redressal by the school authorities, the students finally lodged a complaint at the local police station. The Inspector in-Charge of the police said the statements of the victims and their parents have been recorded and investigation was on.

The Principal of the school has, however, denied any knowledge of such happenings. If the allegations are found to be true, such persons would not be allowed to work as teachers, he has reportedly said.
