'Claim of CM working hard a gimmick'

Published on:

Senior BJP leader and Union Petroleum and Skill Development Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Sunday pooh-poohed the claim that Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik is working hard for development of the State.

Pradhan said this at a joining ceremony held at Boudh in which Congress leader Sushant Pradhan along with his supporters joined the BJP.

“Irrigation facilities have not been provided to Boudh farmers’ lands yet. Weavers’ problems have not been resolved. Condition of tribals depending on collection and sale of forest products is very bad. Is this the result of hard work of Naveen Patnaik during the last 17 years,” wanted to know Pradhan.

He said lack of teachers in schools and dearth of doctors in hospitals are other examples of the ‘incapable’ BJD Government.

On the other hand, Pradhan claimed that the lPG connection in Boudh district has increased from 6,000 in 2014 to 40,000 by now.

He said there would be change in Odisha governance as youths have been fed up at the State Government.
