Hitting out at the ruling BJD for its allegation that the CBI is ‘politicising’ its probe into the mega chit fund scam in the State, representatives of as many as 28 civil society groups (CSGs) on Thursday staged a demonstration in front of the CBI office here protesting the ruling party’s statement and said the CBI is doing its investigation impartially and judiciously.
“The real face of the ruling BJD and particularly of Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik has already been exposed with the CBI arresting a BJD MlA, MP and interrogating Patnaik’s personal aide Saroj Kumar Sahoo. The party leaders are sure that the CBI will soon nab more of its leaders, including the Chief Minister. Hence, to put pressure on the Central investigating agency, the regional party is threatening to go to court of law and take to road,” said rights activist Pradip Pradhan.
The representatives of the civil action groups also expressed their support to the CBI and said the probe is going on right track and the attempts of ruling BJD to derail the probe will be given a befitting reply.
