A team of four members from non-profit organisations Jana Jagaran and ActionAid met Governor SC Jamir here on Wednesday to apprise him about the improper implementation of the provision for Panchayats Extension to Scheduled Areas (PESA) Act-1996 in tribal pockets.
The members also submitted a sample study report, which was carried out in four districts of Koraput, Rayagada, Kandhamal and Mayurbhanj.
Under the leadership of ActionAid programme manager Ghasiram Panda, Sudata Khuntia, Krushana Chandra Panigrahi and Ananda Paskey discussed with the Governor, who assured to solve the problem for welfare of tribal people.
