The Bhubaneswar Operations Centre (BOC), the city’s first centralised command control facility to monitor, operate, and control existing services, is all set to go operational soon, official sources said on Thursday.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik made a surprise visit to the centre to review the progress of its construction.
This state-of-art centre includes a massive video wall of more than 100 feet length (with 16×2 configuration of 70 inch panels) and would be used to monitor the large volume of CCTV footages, highly-sophisticated sensor data, emergency services, etc. The command centre would keep an eye on several functions like traffic management, incident management, city surveillance, emergency services, disaster management and much more.
Various external modules would also be integrated into the system to provide real-time decision support. The construction work for the command control centre is nearing completion at the BMC Bhawani Mall at Saheed Nagar and would be inaugurated soon.
