A get-together along with Xmas gala event was held here on Friday with the theme “Impact of Social Media in Development of Odisha.”
Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena declared on the occasion that the city would be made Wi-Fi free zone in 18 months. He requested the students and youths to use the social media for development of the State. More than 800 professionals, students and people from various fields were present and shared their views on social media.
Social media is playing a vital role in shaping the contemporary social structure and this is a new way of communication and linking, they said.
The event was organised by a national magazine Police Public Press.
