In a major development in the minor girl gang-rape case in the State capital, the Crime Branch (CB) police on Monday picked up four persons, including two employees of private news channel OTV, for questioning in connection with incident.
The detainees were OTV employees Aniruddha Panda and Krushna Chandra Behera and two security guards. FIRs have been lodged against them by the mother of the victim girl at the Infocity police station.
Notably, the girl’s mother was working as a receptionist at the OTV office here at the time of the gang-rape for days together in April and May during the Covid-19 lockdown period.
Aniruddha and Krushna were picked up from Gop in Puri district and Chandni Chowk in Cuttack city, respectively. One of the security guards was detained from Kalinganagar in Jajpur district and the other from Bhubaneswar.
The four accused were interrogated at CB office in Cuttack before being produced before court later in the day once the Crime Branch confirmed their arrest.
