Putting an end to all confusions regarding site selection for new IIM’s permanent campus in State, the Central Government might choose Bhubaneswar or its outskirts as its permanent address, sources said.
Sources said the Centre has finalised three sites on the outskirts of the city. These were behind the IIT campus at Gothapatna, near IIT campus at Argul and a location between Bhubaneswar and Jatni.
Earlier, Union Human Resource Development Department secretary Ashok Thakur had asked the Chief Secretary to suggest suitable locations free-of-cost and free from all encumbrances. He also told him that the location should have necessary physical and social infrastructure which includes good roads, rail and air connectivity.
According to the Central Government’s norms, all these three locations are satisfying the site selection committee, sources said.
