Celebrating the spirit of differently-abled people on the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, hundreds of people, mostly schoolchildren, participated in a walkathon organised here on Tuesday.
Minister of Social Security and Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities Ashok Chandra Panda joined the event as chief guest. The walkathon started from Rajmahal Square and culminated at the Adivasi Ground.
The day is observed on December 3 every year to raise public awareness, understanding and accepting people with disabilities and celebrating their achievements and contributions.
