The Commissionerate Police on Sunday informed that Reddy gang members of Ganjam in league with an employee of the City Chandan Jewellery shop were involved in the Wednesday burglary in the shop.
According to a senior police officer, the role of one Ranjan, an employee of the jewellery shop, is doubtful. “He has not turned up for duty since the incident, while his phone has been switched off. We have launched a manhunt to nab all the accused persons, including Ranjan,” he disclosed.
Notably, the miscreants in a daring act, had looted around 3kg gold jewellery from the City Chandan Jewellery shop near the Master Canteen Square area in the city on Wednesday night. The police had managed to nab one, while the burglars were trying to flee the spot in two bikes after the loot.
