The State Crime Branch’s Special Task Force (STF), which has been carrying out a drive against the drugs mafia, on Tuesday busted an inter-State drugs racket here and arrested three persons.
The three arrestees were identified as SK Azbahar (36) of Jaleswar in Baleswar district, SK Azad (43) alias Nalu, a native of Medinapur in West Bengal and presently residing in Muslim Sahi of Jharpada area here and Ramakanta Sahoo (27) alias Tulu of Birapratapur in Puri district.
The STF sleuths seized 130 grams of brown sugar from the possession of the accused. Besides, a pistol, two live bullets and a vehicle were also seized from them.
Sources said the smugglers used to procure the contraband from Baleswar and to supply it to several places in the State including the drugs mafia in Khordha.
The trio was in the business for a long time.
The STF is carrying further investigations to unearth who else are involved with them.
