The Commissionerate police on Wednesday arrested an auto-rickshaw driver of Nayagarh district from a place on city outskirts for taking a minor girl to a wrong destination with ill-intention.When auto driver Sushanta Palai changed routes and headed towards a remote place, the girl jumped from the auto from being harmed. Some locals rescued and admitted her in Jatni hospital for treatment.
Jatni police station IIC Ranjit Prusty said the minor girl had come to get admission in the Centurion University of Technology for a vocational course. But the university authorities didn’t allow her to get admission as she didn’t meet age criterion, he added.later, the girl hired Susanta’s auto rickshaw to reach Barmunda bus stand. But instead of taking her to Baramunda, Susanta took her towards Mendhasala in the Tamando area with ill intention. Sensing trouble from Susanta’s behaviour, the girl jumped from the auto to save her, he added.
