City activist murder: Two undergo lie detection test

Published on:

The Commissionerate Police on Friday conducted lie detection tests on two suspected persons to know whether they were involved in the alleged murder of social campaigner Nalini Prava Das (62) in the city or not.

Notably, Das had allegedly been killed at her house near the New Forest Park in the city on May 23 evening.

The two who underwent polygraph tests are Das’ auto driver and her nephew.

Police suspected Das’ murder could be the handiwork of the auto-rickshaw driver, engaged to take her around the city, since his mobile phone was found switched off after the incident.

The police also suspected that Das’s nephew might have been involved in the murder to get her property.

The police would take its next course of action on receipt of polygraph test reports, sources said.
