Despite several memorandums and protests by Barbil citizens to draw attention of the administration to improve the health facility in the Barbil Government Hospital, nothing has been achieved.
The hospital is the hope for lakhs of people residing in the Joda-Barbil mining area. But the lack of doctors and other medical staffs has paralysed the health delivery system in this hospital since years.
To pressure the Government for improving the health facilities, citizens under the banner of the Barbil Civil Society on Wednesday began a foot march from Barbil to cover 80 km reach the Keonjhar district Collector’s office.
On the way, the marchers are being greeted by local organisations and public at different places. The foot rally will reach Keonjhar on Thursday and the citizens will place their demands before the Collector and the CDMO.
