Under the Swachchh Bharat Abhiyan, the Nagarik Manch Gopalpur in Baleswar district has been continuing a cleanliness awareness programme since Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti in 2014 and has successfully completed 155th week of the campaign.
The volunteers hold the drive every Sunday for at least two hours in the schools, offices, temples, hospitals premises of different villages and aware people against open defecation and use of polythene.
Basudevpur’s Odia Bhasha Sanskruti Vikash Mancha felicitated the members of Nagarik Mancha at their annual function held here recently. Among others, convener Sudarsan Mohapatra, Biswambar Dash, Rabinarayan Dash, Antaryami Panda, Abhiram Sahu, Braja Rath, lN Khandelwal and Nilambar Maharana were present.
Bikas Satpathy, Saumendra Pandua and Gopinath Barik coordinated the programme.
