Trouble mounted for Odisha-born Bollywood cinematographer Manoj Khatoi after his wife turned up before police on Friday bringing allegation of domestic violence against him.
Preeti went to the Mahila police station here alleging that she has been mentally and physically tortured by Manoj ever since her marriage around 19 years ago. She also alleged that Manoj has duped her of about Rs 1.5 crore through internet banking.
Earlier on August 25, Preeti had visited the Nandankanan police station with the same allegation. However, the Inspector In-Charge did not register the complaint citing error in the FIR and asking her to come with a fresh FIR.
Preeti said, “He (Manoj) has transferred a whopping of Rs 1.5 crore from my bank account to his through internet banking without my knowledge. He has humiliated me for 19 years. I want legal action against him. The court of law should ensure justice to me and my son.” Her son said, “My father beats my mother in front of me. She has suffered a lot. I am okay with either ways. He can come back and stay with us happily, else he may take divorce and do whatever he wants to.”
Notably, Manoj has worked in over 20 Bollywood movies, including Raees, Fukrey, Talaash, DON, Taare Zameen Par and Jawani Janeman.
