The 18th edition of the Enterprise Odisha, the flagship event of the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) Odisha State Council, will be inaugurated here on Friday at 5 : 30 pm in the IDCO Exhibition Ground. The event is the largest industrial and sector-specific fair in the State and has the active support from the Government of Odisha.
Addressing mediapersons here on Thursday, Odisha State Council Chairman MK Gupta said the theme of the five-day-long event this year is ‘Accelerating Odisha’s Economic Growth through Innovation, Transformation and Effective Implementation’.
The primary agenda is ‘Connecting the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises’. There would be special sessions in connection with vendors, financial institutions and customers. There also would be focus on helping the MSME sector empowerment and competitiveness enhancement through ICT intervention.
Regional Director of CII Eastern Region Dr Saugat Mukherjee said the CII’s efforts have always been to promote the interests of the industry and the Defence sector has been identified as one that is free of cyclical slowdowns. The effort this year is to initiate steps to establish interaction between local industries and the Defence sector. The traditional areas of focus including food processing and education would be there in strength as usual
Head of CII Odisha State Office Suparna Nanda said the participation in the exhibition is expected to be better than the previous years despite the economic slowdown.
