The Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), in association with the Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) office, organised an awareness programme on IPR for the NOCCi-promoted plastic and polymer clusters at the Ganeswarpur Industrial Estate here on Wednesday.
This was the second in the series of awareness programmes organised under the joint aegis of CII and IPR office. The main objective behind organising it was to sensitise the clusters about IPR and their protection procedure and to advise on protective innovations.
This will help the clusters utilise the IP information in their business development.
The module included a brief introduction on IPR with several technical sessions on all forms of IPR with special focus on IP licensing, audit, commercialisation and IP managements. There was also a special session on ‘Enforcement of IPRs and remedies against infringement: Case laws’.
IP experts were invited to take the modules and interact with the cluster members.
NOCCi president Devashish Mahanty, IPR assistant controller JK Pradhan, NOCCi convenor Amit Behera, MSME director PK Gupta, Saikrishna and Associates partner Pushpam Jha and CII North Odisha Zonal Council member SK Khetan were present on the occasion.
Besides, it was attended by cluster members who got the opportunity to understand patents, trade secrets, trademarks and GI and how to work towards having their products and processes protected under the Indian IP System.
