The Central Institute of Freshwater Aquaculture (CIFA) here held the Swachchh Bharat Abhiyan at Kausalyaganga here on Thursday.
CIFA Director Dr P Jayasankar administered the Swachchh Bharat pledge to all its employees, contractual staff and students. The entire campus was divided into nine zones, where over 500 staffs carried out cleanliness activities.
During the programme, CIFA, for the first time, showcased its two developed products, including a powdered bio-fertilizer ‘Fish biofert’ and a liquid fertiliser ‘Fish hydrolysate’ prepared from fish waste and can be used in agriculture, aquaculture and animal farming.
These low cost, nutritious, environmentally-safe and sustainable recycled products befit contributions of the institute in the context of this Abhiyan.
