The Council of Higher Secondary Education (CHSE), Odisha will not conduct the Plus Two first year examinations this year.

A decision to this effect was taken on Thursday at a meeting held under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi at the State Secretariat where

School and Mass Education Minister Debi Prasad Mishra and Higher Education Minister Pradeep Panigrahy were present.

The CHSE would not conduct the first year examinations this year due to shortage of time, said Mishra after the meeting. The examinations would be conducted by the colleges as usual this year, he added.

“Modalities will be prepared for holding the next year’s examinations after wider consultations,” the Minister said.

Notably, the CHSE had earlier submitted a report to the School and Mass Education Department in support of holding the examinations.

Besides, a roadmap was prepared to conduct the examinations in the Optical Mark Recognition (OMR) format.
