Chouhan need not advise Odisha: BJD

Published on:

In a sharp reaction to Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan’s remark that development is not possible in Odisha under the present dispensation, the BJD said Chouhan should first control the uprising in his State born out of killing of five farmers in police firing and then advise Odisha.

“The Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister has stained his hands with bloods of farmers killed in police firing. He should think of effecting development for his State’s farmers first. He should not give any advice to the Odisha Government on development,” said BJD spokesperson Pratap Keshari Deb.

He said Chouhan should analyse what development he has done for farmers in his State even when the BJP is in power at the Centre.

Similarly, party vice-president Surjya Narayan Patro said Chouhan’s remark on Odisha is very unfortunate when his own State is facing farmers’ revolt and that has become a national issue now.
