CBI takes Green India directors on 10-day remand
The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday conducted raids at eight places, including Bhubaneswar, in connection with the business activities of the Adarsh Group of Companies involved in the chit fund business.
The central agency, which is conducting raids at offices and residences of the directors of the Adarsh Group, also raided the Bhadrak residence of Kamalakanta Dhrupati, a director of the company. Dhrupati is behind bars after he was arrested by the CBI three days back.
The CBI has raided the Saheed Nagar and Nayapalli offices here and the Sambalpur office of the company. It is probing possible involvement of politicians in the company, sources said.
Meanwhile, the CBI took Green India company directors Pradeep Singh and Suneel Panda on 10-day remand for interrogation. The Special Judicial Magistrate (SJM) court here on Friday had allowed the CBI officials to take the directors on remand.
Though the CBI had requested the court in written to grant them 14 days remand, the court allowed only 10 days.
