Justice MM Das heading the Judicial Commission of Enquiry probing the chit fund scam in the State on Wednesday said that the Commission would soon begin the process of identifying the small investors for return of their invested money in the chit fund companies. The Commission has by now vetted over eight lakh affidavits and the process of data entry of some 4.30 lakh affidavits are over after scanning them, sources said. "We are going to issue notices to the chit fund companies soon to record their depositions after fixing dates for the same," said Justice Das.
He said within a month or so, the Commission would be in a position to submit an interim report for return of their invested money to the smaller investors. Paving the way for return of money to smaller investors from the corpus fund, the Odisha Government had amended the earlier terms of reference (ToR) of the Judicial Commission in March last.
