Chit fund depositors to intensify stir

The duped depositors of Odisha by the Chit fund firms would continue their stir till their hard earned money is refunded and flawed laws which pave the way for such mega scam are amended, said Arthika Sansthamanakadwara Khyatigrasthanka Milita Manch convenor Jayant Das here on Sunday at a district-level depositors’ meet.

After joining of Soumya Ranjan Patnaik in the BJD and his nomination to the Rajya Sabha, some people have started expressing doubt over the future of the movement.

However, Das said the joining of Soumya Ranjan Patnaik and his nomination to RajyaSabha will not affect the movement as this is the movement of the victim depositors and over six lakhs people have joined the movement demanding refund of their money.

From April next, the Manch will intensify its agitation at teshil level across the State, Das said. The meet also stressed to holding Jamakri GanaSatyagraha in all teshils of Bolangir district soon. Unless State and Central Governments take step to refund the money of the depositors and amend the laws by July, Manch will intensify the stir its agitation further, said Das further.
