The Abhayachandpur police arrested chit fund agent Pabitra Das of Rangiagarh village for cheating 11 persons of Rs 35 lakh of the same village.
Das worked as an agent of AT Group and Magma Finance and he along with his family members duped the victims of the money by persuading them to invest in chit fund and promising them of attractive returns.
But after some days, Das and his family members vanished from the village all of a sudden. Consequentially, the investors logged FIR against them. While police swung into action, Das's mother Salila and brother Dillip got advance bail from Orissa High Court. However, Das was absconding since 2015. On November 5, Abhayachandpur IIC Jugal Kishor Das arrested Das.
