The eight Chinese nationals. who were working at the Dhamra Port in Bhadrak district and were served with ‘Quit India’ notice on Monday, have left Odisha.
The Chinese nationals left Bhadrak for the Chinese Consulate in Kolkata on Monday evening by two vehicles.
Earlier in the day, they had been summoned to the Bhadrak district police headquarters and served with the notice to leave the country by June 17.
Since these foreign nationals had business visas and were working for a Thai firm without having the requisite work visa, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs had directed the State Government to serve quit notice to them.
Sources said these Chinese nationals were engineers and were working for the Thai company engaged in the expansion of the Dhamra Port.
According to the landlord of the house where the Chinese were staying since February, the house had been taken on rent by the SS Construction of Bhadrak.
