Industries minister Debi Prasad Mishra on Wednesday said businessmen of China have shown interest to invest in the State.
After a meeting with Consulate General (Kolkata) of People’s Republic of China MA Zhanwu here, the Minister said the process for Chinese investment would start from February 2016.
“The Chinese officials discussed with us the areas they want to explore in the State for business and investment. They showed interest to work in sectors ranging from petrochemicals to tourism,” Mishra said.
He further stated that Chinese businessmen are already doing business here and have won a contract to work on a power plant. “Besides, the Chinese officials talked about an industrial dispute that a Chinese businessman is facing here,” Mishra added.
