Children of 30 slums in the city on Monday communicated with the mass through their monthly wall magazine Amme Kahuchhu Aama Katha by writing reports about their everyday problems relating to living conditions including hygienic issues.
In this fifth edition, Child Club members demonstrated their skills through sticking their tiny writing pieces including short poems, small essays, drawings, testimonies, pictures of their slums and funny things in public walls in 10 selected slums in the city. Community leaders, elected representatives and children inaugurated these pieces in their respective slums with a gathering of slum communities.
Child club members, Bala Das, Pinky Das, Muna Das, Jharana Das, Suraj Das and Rinky Patra actively participated in the exercise.
The concept of reporting by children about their slum problems has been started by the Youth for Social Development (YSD) two months ago.
