Police rescued 27 children detained in a rented house for trafficking later at Balipada on the outskirts of Brahmapur on Friday evening. The police also detained two persons for interrogation in this connection.
Acting on a tip-off from Childline, the police raided the place and rescued the children. The kids belong to Ganjam, Gajapati and Kandhamal districts. According to police, the children were neither sent to any school nor provided any basic facilities of living. The house where they were kept was an unregistered one.
