In a tragic incident, a six-year-old girl was killed and two others of the family were injured at Baghamunda Biharipada in Hirakud town in Sambalpur district when a wall of their house collapsed due to the low pressure-induced heavy rains on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Bebo Sahani.
Bebo’s mother Usha Devi Sahani and her brother were critically injured in the accident and admitted to the VIMSAR in Burla. Her father Hira Sahani, however, escaped unhurt.
The deceased’s family has been provided with an assistance of Rs 14,000 by the Red Cross.
