Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will inaugurate a total of 26 new schemes and projects in his visit to Keonjhar on March 1.

As per the arrangement, instead of going to different places of the district, the Patnaik will inaugurate all the projects  at the meeting to be held at the DD College ground here. Then the foundation stones will be taken to the respective area to start the work.

All the local MlAs and MP, including of Champua Independent MlA Sanatan Mahkud, will remain present in the programme.

The supporters of Mahakhud are very enthusiastic to attend the meeting. Sources revealed that more than 1 lakh supporters of Mahakud including 30,000 from Champua itself will greet the Chief Minister putting BJD symbol on their head and some hundreds of people will also blow the conch. Even all the arrangements of the venue which may run to a few lakhs as per eye calculation is said to be borne by Mahakud camp. Only Rs 50,000 has been from the Government side for the preparation of the helipad, dais and other works as per the sources of the PWD Department.  A large number of welcome gates showing only Patnaik and Mahakud have been erected on different roads leading  to the venue.

When asked, Minister Badri Narayan Patra said previously Mahakud was not in our party line but if he makes amends and adopts BJD culture, he is most welcome.  However the supporters of Mahakhud said their leader wants to do something for the Keonjhar district by joining his hands BJD, but some BJD leaders and grassroots workers are not happy with the development.
