Chief Minister refuses to meet Jagdev supporters

In an interesting development, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Saturdayrefused to meet the supporters of the Begunia MlA who had gone to the Naveen Niwas.

Sources said nearly 150 to 200 supporters of Begunia MlA Prasant Javdev had gone to Naveen Niwas to meet the Chief Minister but had to return back disappointed as they were refused entry by the security personnel.

Notably, the muscle flexing MlA is again the news after the Bolgarh Tehsildar alleged that the MlA has hurled a lighted lantern at her and lodged a police complaint against him. The tehsil staff also went on a cease work stir. However, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Bijayshree Routray batted in support of the MlA and said if somebody constructs a house on a Pradhan Mantri Sadak Yojana road, if the MlA objects to it, he has done nothing wrong.  It might be mentioned here that of late, the MlA has been hitting the Media headlines for the wrong reasons.

From assaulting BJP supporters in Boudh to thrashing a common man in Khordha to demolishing a rickety hotel in front of his official residence using muscle power, the MlA triggered one controversy after another which according to political observers tarnished the image of BJD.
