People of Kainchapur panchayat of Ganjam block have expressed their strong resentment against Grasim Industries. A meeting under the presidentship of former Block Chairman Bhagya Reddy was organised to discuss various developmental works of the panchayat and mainly grivances of people against the Grasim Industries.
It was alleged that the Grasim Industries was taking excess water from Kainchapur area for which the water level was going down every year. Local representatives alleged that the company was making bore wells without taking any permission from the panchayat. People also expressed serious concern as the educated youth of the area are not getting any employment in the plant. Due to this, many educated youth are going to Surat and other States for job, they told.
Sources said that the locals are preparing for a mass strike against Grasim Industries in the coming days. They have also written this to the District Collector, Superintendent of Police and other concerned departments about their problems.
Among others, Samiti Member Jayakrushna Reddy, president of Samabaya Samiti Abhiram Reddy, Padma Pradhan, B Banamali and Biswanath Behera attended.
