Demanding sacking and arrest of Minister of State for Home Dibya Shankar Mishra for his alleged involvement in the Mamita Meher murder case, hundreds of Chhatra Congress activists held two separate rallies on Tuesday and staged demonstrations near the Naveen Niwas and the DG Police camp office here. While one rally led Chhatra Congress State president Yasheer Nawaj confronted with police at Sishu Bhavan Square while preceding towards the Naveen Niwas, another group of activists demonstrated before DG camp office and submitted a memorandum to Commissioner of Police. The memorandum expressed strong resentment over the police atrocities on Chhatra Congress activists in Bargarh and other districts. It said police remained silent when BJD workers beat up Congress workers. It also decried Police North Range DIG’s clean chit to Minister Mishra without detailed investigation.
