The Nayapalli police on Wednesday arrested city-based Srabani Construction Pvt ltd’s managing director Siba Narayan Chhotaray for allegedly duping people of Rs 2 crore.
Earlier in 2015, Chhotray had been arrested by the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) of the Crime Branch police for reselling his already-mortgaged land in the Khandagiri area and submitting fake loan documents with forged signatures of a bank branch manager. He had also allegedly submitted fraudulent documents to the Registrar of Companies.
It may be mentioned that the company started its operation in August 2001 with its registered office at Nayapalli and allegedly cheated many people on the plea of providing houses.
