Police here have arrested three persons in connection with a BN Pur police station case on June 12 in a cheating case.
Dr Ramesh Chandra Barata in an FIR had alleged that the accused persons had hatched a conspiracy to cheat him by creating a forged lease agreement pertaining to sale of a hospital on 31.03.2021.
Apollo Hospital building and land was owned by Specimen Holdings of which Sangram Mohanty and Rushi Nahak were directors. When the hospital was running in loss, they wanted to sell the hospital and looked for buyers. Accordingly, Dr Barata was interested to purchase and hence, he periodically paid EMIs and settled some loans of Specimen Holdings which owned the Apollo Hospital so that when he buys the hospital the amount will be adjusted.
But suddenly, Sangram Mohanty and Rushi Nahak decided not to sell the hospital as hospital business started reviving in the post Covid time. Since they had agreed to sell the hospital and also Dr Barata had already taken a lot of loan and spent a lot of money for clearing the loan of Ms Specimen Holdings Limited, they forced Dr Barata to agree to their terms. They also forced him to form a joint company with Nissie Priyadarshini to be able to buy the hospital, else they will not sell the hospital. With hesitation, Dr Barata agreed without any other way hoping that, once he gets the hospital registered in his name, he will sort out all the issues.
Accordingly, on 31.03.2021, Dr Barta along with Nissie Priyadarshini together bought the Apollo Hospital from Ms Specimen Holdings through registered sale deed after giving Rs 4, 64, 00,000 to Sangram Mohanty and Rushi Nahak. They renamed it as Aum Aarogya Hospital Private Limited. Dr Barata had taken a loan of Rs 5 crore from Bank of Maharashtra with the sole hope to buy the hospital.
But immediately after the sale, the very next day, on April 1, 2021, Priyadarshini without the knowledge of Dr Barata made a lease agreement with the same Specimen Holdings Limited and sold the hospital back for a very less amount, an amount even much less than the EMI of the loan of Aum Aarogya Hospital.
When Dr Barata visited the hospital, he was assaulted and threatened
to be killed by the accused persons. Finally, finding no other alternative, he registered a case with Baidyanathpur Police station. During investigation, the police seized all related documents and arrested all three accused, namely, Priyadarshini, Sangram Mohanty and Badrinarayana Patro, husband of Priyadarshini. Further investigation was underway, Brahmapur SP Dr Sarvana Vivek M said.
