A body with 70 per cent burn injuries was found near Ranipur village adjacent to Khariar town on Friday. Police confirmed that it was a case of murder. The body with a helmet on head seemed to have been burnt by the culprits. In another case, a 15-year-old boy, Baibhav Saraf, was reported to be kidnapped on Friday. The kidnappers demanded a ransom of Rs 30 lakh for his release from the victim’s family. "We have filed two separate cases; one of murder and another of kidnapping. We cannot link these two cases until a scientific test of the body is done. The body has been sent for forensic test," clarified Nuapada SP Smith P Parmar.
