Thousands of tourists faced trouble in the world famous Sun Temple at Konark on Sunday during their entry to the shrine following shortage of entry tickets.
As it was Sunday, there were huge footfalls but the entry was not smooth as the visitors had to wait for hours for ticket.
This led to chaos while the tourists were standing on a queue before the ticket counter. However, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) denied the claim by tourists of ticket shortage.
An ASI official said that due to delay in return of tokens from tourists, who had entered into the shrine, it caused a little delay to issue fresh tickets. He, however, denied that there is chaos in front of the temple gate. As many as 9,124 tourists including 10 foreigners entered the shrine on the day, the ASI sources said.
