Over 200 BJP workers from Kalahandi district have been staging a dharna at the party’s State headquarters here since Monday evening to protest against the selection of former Minister Pradipta Nayak as the party’s candidate for the Kalahandi lok Sabha seat.
The protesters also demand change of all the candidates announced for the five Assembly seats in the district. They said all the Assembly candidates were announced on the advice of Pradipta Nayak which is not acceptable to them.
Kalahandi leader of the party Santosh Behera said, “We have come to meet our party president and demand change of candidates. We have already met Dharmendra Pradhan, our national general secretary and have placed out demand before him.”
