The wood work festival of chariot making at the Rath Khala and Chandan Yatra were started in the Narendra pond at Srikshetra Dham in Puri on Monday. likewise, at the Iskcon temple here Ratha Katha Anukul festival was inaugurated in the temple premises.
Sambad editor Soumya Ranjan Patnaik, lok Sevak Mandal national secretary Nirajan Rath and Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena were present as guests.
Chandan Yatra was held at fountain pond in the Iskcon premises. Bhajan and Kirtan were held in the temple premises.
The Yatra would continue for 21 days and conclude on May 29. The programme was coordinated by Iskcon president Sripad Premananda Das. Vice-president Shaswatpati Das, Kashinath Pandit Das, ex-president Dhruba Maharaj Das, Gokula Nanda Das and festival committee chairman Sripad Upendra Mishra Das were present.
