In a significant step towards benefitting more than 5,000 Nalco employees across the country, company CMD Dr Tapan Kumar Chand inaugurated the 6th Long Term Wage Negotiation at the Nalco Corporate Office here on Monday.
It would set in motion the process of wage settlement for the company’s employees, including revision of scale of pay, HRA, incentives and other benefits. Dr Chand has given a call to the recognised unions and the management to complete the process of negotiation within one month.
Dr Chand said, “The employees have played a key role in helping Nalco reach where it is today. It is their commitment that will help Nalco turn its dream of becoming a Maharatna company from the present Navratna company into a reality. This decision to roll out the 6th Long Term Wage Settlement will have a positive impact on the morale of the employees.”
Notably, the Nalco is one of the few PSUs in the mining and metal sector in the country which has taken the lead in taking concrete steps for initiating the process of the 6th Long Term Wage Negotiation as per the guidelines of the Government of India.
Members of five recognised unions participated in the meeting and committed to positively contribute towards organisational growth and excellence.
