The Central Electricity Supply Utility (Cesu) has failed to collect Rs144 crore from its three franchisees, Enzen Global Solutions (ENZEN), Feedback Electricity Distribution Company (FEDCO) and Riverside Utilities Pvt ltd (RUPl).
Questioning the silence of the higher authorities of Cesu and Energy Department for not showing any interest in facilitating collection of money, the Odisha Rajya Bidyut Sramik Karmachari Sangha general secretary in a Press release alleged that a big deal has been executed between the franchisees, Cesu and the State Government.
According to Akshay Kumar Tripathy, while RUPl has an arrear of 60 crore, Enzen and Fedco have an arrear of Rs24 crore and Rs60 respectively but no action at higher level has been experienced to recover the money either by the Cesu or by the Government. Instead, the Cesu is engaging its employees with the franchisees for collection of money, added Tripathy.
He further alleged that the Cesu authorities have intentionally misplaced the sealed registrar of the Unit IX Section office. “The Cesu employees are yet to get the salary for the month of January. We don’t understand why it is mum over its franchisees which are not depositing the collection money regularly, resulting in a huge loss to the Cesu and the State exchequer,” questioned Tripathy.
