Vigilance officers on Friday arrested Cuttack Dolamunai Electrical Section Junior Engineer Bikash Kumar Senapati for demanding and accepting illegal gratification of Rs 50,000 from Debasis Kumar Jena of Pithapur to supply a 3-phase electrical connection to his residential house. About six months back, Jena had applied for a 3-phase electric connection and requested the Junion Engineer for an early connection. But Senapati demanded bribe of Rs 50,000 for the purpose. Acting on Jena’s complaint, Vigilance sleuths laid a trap and caught Senapati red-handed while taking the demanded amount form Jena in his office room on Friday.
