Centre's 'anti-minority' activities protested

Activists of the Ama Adhikar Swabhimani Odisha Yuva Sanghathan on Tuesday staged a demonstration before the Raj Bhavan protesting the anti-minority and anti-Constitutional activities undertaken by the NDA Government at the Centre. Submitting a memorandum to the President through the Governor, the Sanghathan alleged that communal activities by communal and ultra-religious minded leaders of outfits like BJP, Bajarangdal and Viswa Hindu Parishad are on the rise after Narendra Modi became Prime Minister.

“A Muslim youth was beaten to death on religious lines which many BJP leaders termed as ‘The first wicket has fallen’. Attack on a ‘couple in love’ in Kerala and Haryana Chief Minister’s support to unconstitutional Khap panchyat expose the real intention of the Union Government,” said Amiya Pandav of Ama Adhikar.

He urged the President to advise the Prime Minister to refrain from instigating his party leaders from committing such activities. Among others, Ganesh Das, Nagen Rath and Tarini Prasanna Das led the demonstration.
