Senior State Congress leader lalatendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra on Wednesday said that the Union Government has decided to set up a medical college and hospital at Puri by upgrading the District Headquarters Hospital. Mohapatra said that in a letter to Union Health Minister Gulam Nabi Azad he had requested him to set up a medical college and hospital at Puri as a Central Government scheme. Azad in his reply has informed that the Puri District Headquarters Hospital would be given the status of a medical college and hospital with 100 seats, Mohapatra said.
