Union Steel and Mines minister Narendra Singh Tomar has informed that the Central Government plans to set up steel plants in four States, including Odisha. Speaking to media in Asansol in West Bengal, Tomar said that in order to meet the rising demand for steel, his Government has plans to set up four steel plants, one each in Odisha, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh and Karnataka. Tomar was in Asansol to oversee the preparations for inauguration of the expanded IISCO plant there by Prime Minister Narendra Modi next week.
