BJP national general secretary P Muralidhar Rao on Tuesday came down heavily on the State Government for maintaining silence over the Sarathi Baba scandal and police highhandedness in Kendrapada after transferring former Kendrapada SP Satish Gajbhiye. Rao demanded stringent action against Gajbhiye for brutally assaulting public including BJP Kendrapada district president Duryodhan Sahu.
He also informed mediapersons here that the Central Government has taken the Gajbhiye issue seriously.Rao appreciated people’s agitation against the police excesses and criticised the State Government for keeping mum over the issue. “Gajbhiye has stated that he was in contact with Chief Minister’s Office on the day of the police attack on public in Kendrapada. It confirms that the Chief Minister was aware about the issue,” he added.
On organisational matter of the party, Rao said the BJP has become number one party in the world with 11 crore members. The party has started focusing on West Bengal, Odisha, Assam, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana for strengthening of its base by providing training to its members.
He said the party would give training to its workers of 451 organisational blocks in Odisha. The party would train 15 lakh active members across the country within four months, he said.
